Move bar issues

Still debating whether or not to leave my move bar on or off. It is useful if it keeps me from sitting too long. But it is ridiculously bad - I've had it 'cleared' sitting on the coach watching TV, in bed, in the shower - etc. And I've gone on long walks that don't seem to clear it. This is especially frustrating because it worked well when I first got the watch - somewhere around Software 4.0 introduced these issues. And especially strange because the step counter seems to work okay.
  • I have no issues with inactivity alerts on my FR645, but I can "confirm" that something changed with an earlier firmware update (maybe 3.7.).
I noticed, that it got much easier to clear an inactivity alert.

just acquired a forerunner 35 and the move bar does not clear.  The instructions are that it clears when you "get up and walk around."  All I can say is that "getting up and walking around" DOES NOT CLEAR THE BAR.  Sad.

  • If it's like other devices, wyou'll see 5 segments when it's full.  The 1st is one hour, and the 4 smaller ones, each additional 15 minutes.

It's no triggered by "no activity" but "not enough activity", with the large segment been 100 or more steps in an hour, so when fill, it's <200 steps in 2 hours.

To clear the move bar you have to clear all segments.  So if it's just the first one, take 100 steps.  All 5, 200 steps.  And the key is take those steps without stopping.

Seems to work different from Fitbit. It doesn't reset hourly. It just get bigger the longer you wait. So if you've already been actove, it'll clear faster.

  • Yes, It's different that fitbit.
