Garmin Basecamp compatibility with 645?

Hi,

Does anyone know if the 645 is compatible with Garmin Basecamp? I want to load GB grid references onto my device as saved locations for hiking. At the moment I have to save current location and then edit the co-ordinates but I have to convert the grid reference to WGS84 using an iPhone app first as you can't change the location format on the 645 unlike on the Fenix and 935.

I know Garmin wants us to buy a Fenix for doing this but you can still navigate to waypoints perfectly with a 645. It just more inconvenient if you are hiking in the UK and want to use Ordnance Survey maps as you have to do a manual conversion.

Thanks

  • I own my NON MUSIC 645 since one week so I can't tell you about the past, but if I open Basecamp (not last version 4.7 but earlier because last has some problems with map installing) I find it in left menu beside my Etrex30 and if I drag and drop some track (still haven't tried with waypoint and routes) when I open some activity i find them in navigation options.
    Last firmware installed , 4.0.

Open Basecamp, export the gpx files wherever you want (let's say on the desktop), then drag them in the Newfiles folder of the device using Android Transfer application (I used with a Mac and it works)
