Forerunner 645 Music widget is broken 4.0 firmware...

My Forerunner 645 ( not the Music version) has been automatically updated overnight to 4.00 2 days ago. An annoying issue emerged after only a few hours of use.

If you listen to music and you use the music widget to control the volume or play/pause/skip a track that plays on your phone for example, it will cause the watch to crash and reboot...I hope Garmin will fix this soon...it’s embarrassing that such a large bug was not found.

A beta software version has been released that includes a fix for this issue. More information can be found in the sticky at the top of this forum.

had the same problem with 4.0 Software, device will restart when switching to music widget. Now with 4.10 Software it no longer crashes the device switching to music widget, But the music widget is not working. it just does nothing, shows no controls :(
so the latest firmware still doesn't fix the issue

Try rebooting (and checking the watch did actually update)

rebooted and restarted multiple times, watch has updated. music control doesn't work when it is one of the screens displayed during activity. otherwise it works

Music widget once more broken on 645..what gives? According to this blog, this was to be repaired 2 years ago!!

Here it is 2 years later, and the same issue is back..overnight my music widget died. What is with Garmin?? I thought this error had been fixed!
