AfterShokz Trekz Air - REDIAL Issues

I use the AfterShokz Trekz Air. I have bought and returned two pair as both -- mid run -- when pushing the multi-function button (once to pause or twice to skip songs) will suddenly tell me I am trying to redial the last number. I haven't figured out how/why it happens. Whether it's because I pushed the multi-function button between songs or while a song is paused. However, once I get that error, I can no longer control or listen to music AT ALL. Nothing I do on the watch or the headset plays the music. I guess the headsets believe I am connected to a phone and am using them for telephone calls....

Does anyone know how to get around this or to not have this issue or to have this never happen? Seems only way to fix is to remove and add the headphones again. An update of the headphones to make it know it's connecting to a watch and not a phone seems in order. I called the Aftershokz folks a month ago or so and they told me this was a defective headset, but I returned them for a new pair and have the issue again.

This MUST be something with that multifunction button and I can't be alone. It's beyond annoying. At the very least some info on how/why I get this issue would be useful so I know not to do THAT. Thanks.

are you listening to music through our watch? i found that when i was doing that i needed to control the music through the watch as well. I only use the controls on the headset to increase and decrease volume. all other functions i use the watch to switch songs and pause etc. I cannot pause music with the multifunction button.

it sounds like you have both devices connected to your headset and so when you hit the multi function button it is trying to call. I know, not what it should be doing, but i think what is happening.

i did not have this problem when i first got my Trekz but it started after one of the updates ( i think the last one). not a huge issue for me - i just use the watch for my controls.

Heather, thanks for the feedback. Sounds like we have the same issue and, agreed, maybe I need to JUST use the watch to control the music. It's obviously much easier to push the multifunction button once/twice vs. going through the motions to find the music settings and change things. I no longer have my phone sync to my watch (and I never have it with me anyway), but the headset has still blown up as before. Frankly, I am convinced this is an issue with the watch and not the headset. But I will just use the watch to control the music for the near future. Thanks again for the feedback!

This is still an issue, but at least now I can go back into the music settings and choose a new song or play all songs. It's seriously frustrating to have to futz with the watch during a run. Especially a workout.

The issue is definitely the thing is still trying to sync songs that no longer exist on my PC. I have obviously removed all songs and added them back, but they continue to appear on the watch (although there is no file).

Does anyone know how to refresh the watch (or actually remove all songs - for real) without resetting the watch and all its settings? Any thoughts on this would be much appreciated as it's frustrating as &^@$ as you can imagine.
  • I just bought a pair of AfterShokz Air and started experiencing the same problem. Even with disconnecting and reconnecting the headphones, I still couldn't get them to play music. The only solution was to restart my 645M. Another issue that appears to be related its that right before the music cuts off, my ConnectIQ data fields present an error. This leads me to suspect it is a software issue in the watch which causes the music and some data fields to crash. This is very frustrating and an unacceptable solution if it was to happen in the middle of a run. Is there a software solution to resolve this problem?!?!
