Difference in distance Garmin Connect vs. Google Maps

Last week i recorded an acitivity with my FR645 v3.4.
Typ: Cycling, GPS Moden on UltraTrac
Distance in activity and also on Garmin Connect 172,75 km
After i have exported the activity and imported again into Google maps, i see a distance of 190,2 km.

According to other informations and sources the Tour should also have about 190 km.

How can there be this difference of about 17,45 km?? Any ideas?

Thanks, but why is the correct distance displayed in google after importing the apparently incorrect gps recording?

Because Garmin used its odometer to calculate distance on the go, and Google recalculated distance based on track points. Just guessing. Hard to say for sure without looking at the data.
