My clock right now is about 15 minutes off - before it was too slow and now it is too fast. I recently updated to 3.7, and after it updated I held down "Light" until my phone turned off (I think this is called a soft reset?). I did this because just reading on the forums its a good idea to restart your phone after an update. Perhaps I should have just turned it off and on instead? But in any case, this soft reset is what caused my time to be off. How do I get my time to be displayed correctly now and why did this happen?? Many thanks.
You can just start something like "run" and wait for a GPS fix, add a control to do it to the controls screen, or got to Settings>System>Time>Sync with GPS
Thanks to all! But how come the time will get incorrect like that? And when you say add a control to the controls screen, can you just walk me through that part? Thanks and sorry for all the questions.
Great, thank you! So I see I can add a control "Set Time With GPS" to the Controls screen, or I could just do that manually by going to Settings--System--Time--Sync with GPS
But honestly, why would I want to add this control to the controls screen? That would mean I would use it fairly frequently - why should my clock time be going out of wack so often? What causes that to happen?
Incorrect time on the Forerunner 645 can happen a few ways:
Hard reset (Pressing and holding the power button until watch powers off). This completely cuts power to the watch and could cause the time to be incorrect (incorrect time may not happen with every hard reset).
Completely draining the battery. When the battery has no power it is unable to continue keeping time
Incorrect time coming from the phone (this tends to be rare, but no unheard of)
Setting the time to manual and setting the time incorrectly
Changing time zones and not syncing with the phone or getting a GPS signal to update the time.
