Simple strength app or synch with Jefit?

Just got my 645M and hit the gym today. Tried the standard strength app which to me is a combination of the worst parts of other watches. It's not simple like the TomTom gym app. That one just lets you start and stop the app at the beginning and end of your gym session and it tracks your heart rate and time. Nothing to do between sets. Works great if your using a phone app like Jefit to guide you through the workout and track reps, weight, etc. Is there any app or widget that is simple like that or that allows you to synch with Jefit routines?

Thanks
James
  • Using the Cardio app will give you the same result as what you describe for the Tom Tom app.

Awesome! Thanks. I'll try that next time.
  • Personally I use the strength app and set the option to "auto set" this way it tracks most sets without any input. Alternatively just ignore the app and don't put any sets in. It achieves the same thing as your Tom Tom.

For me I find it very handy for rest times between sets, it may miscount but a timer between sets is great. It stops you from resting for too long.

I tried looking for somewhere to change settings but couldn't find it. That sounds like the option I want because I like to be able to see what type of exercise I did in MyFitnessPal. Strength, Cardio, Running, etc have different food requirements for me so I try to keep track of the difference. How do I find the option setting?
  • To find the auto-set function ...

Press Start to bring up the list of activities > select Strength from the list > Hold Menu to bring up the strength activity settings menu > select Strength Settings > scroll down to find Auto set

Thanks! Never would have found that. Guessing it's the same for all activity settings. Time to go look at options for other stuff too...

Speaking of the strength app and the auto rep count, how has everyone found the tracking for excercises on the 645? Just used it for the first time while working out the other day, and I noticed that while it seems to start counting the reps at the appropriate time (it even classified most of the exercises i was doing correctly), it seems to just stop suddenly on almost every exercise... even if the motions I was performing didnt change. Anyone else see this behavior on their own watch? Maybe this is something that can be tweaked in a future update? Just curious!
  • Yes, I see the same thing, I would guess it's s limitation of the tech. I'm my case it normally happens on the slower reps at the end of a set. As you move slower the watch thinks you have finished and stops.
Auto set appears to be in beta so hopefully it gets tweaked to work better in time.

Hi , I have the same question as OP even though it is a year old post. I see Auto Set is still beta - have any of you noticed changes in the last year?

Do you think Auto set is still the best option compared to Jefit?

    Thanks
