Strava Live Segments - problem with deleting/removing - the segment keeps showing up!

So I have a Strava premium account and had a segment that I starred on Strava. Sure enough when I approached the segment I received the live segment feature on my watch. But now I wanted to remove this live segment as I do not want it to show up on my watch anymore. I unstarred it from Strava, have re-synched with the Garmin Connect app on my iPhone, and also went to Run - run settings - training - Strava Live Segments - *segment* - Delete. It removes it from my live segment list, but then later on I go back to this setting and it has re-appeared.

So how do you properly remove a live segment? It should not be this hard! The only thing I have not done is synched my watch up with my computer's Garmin program (ie how I receive software updates). I have also restarted my watch. Any ideas? Thanks.

Can anyone help me out here? Joey? No matter what I do, the live segment still shows up on my watch - even after deleting it, it reappears. Thanks.

My intuitive understanding on how Live Segment management *should* work is this:

1) You star a segment on Strava.com
2) Sync your watch (either through GCM or cable)
3) Segment appears on watch.
4) You unstar a segment on Strava.com
5) Sync your watch
6) Segment disappears from the watch.

Unfortunately this is *not* what happens on 735xt and I am afraid on the 645 as well. Deletion of segments was a mess last time I checked.

I would not hold my breath that Garmin would implement such a functionality given how problematic synchronizing settings between GCweb, GCmobile and Watch (itself) is. Just look for threads like: "I set an alarm on my watch but it gets overwritten by GCM" etc.

Thanks -- Yes I starred on strava.com, synched, now want to delete it, so I unstarred it on strava.com and deleted the live segment on my watch (as described in my original post) and synched again. However the live segment still shows up on my watch as enabled and also it goes to live segment when I approach it on my run. So how do you troubleshoot this to get rid of the live segment?

You might need to disable "popular segments" from being synchronized as well. Just a thought ...

When I go to strava.com, Dashboards - My Segments - I do not see anything about popular segments. I don't even see any segments, since I have unstarred this one that keeps showing up on my watch. I see three tabs: My Segments, Created Segments, Hidden Segments.

I have the same problem with my 735xt.

I can't remove segments from my watch.

What if you navigate to \Garmin\Segments and remove them from there? Does that help?
