ooops. i was cleaning up a few unneeded apps from the watch and accidentally deleted (as opposed to removed) the "run" app. so it's not even in my garmin express to move back across to the device. nor can i find it in connect iq. any ideas?
Someone with a FR645 needs to connect their watch to their computer, copy the run file from their sports folder and send it to you. You then need to paste the file in your sports folder and then copy all the files and save them on your computer for a backup. I'd send you my file, but I have a 935 and I don't know if they're different. If no one assist you, let me know and I'll send mine. You can always delete it if it doesn't work.
On a side note someone else reported the same problem and it seems to be a 645 bug where deleting any app actually deletes the first one. Just so you know for next time....
BTW, the above instructions are correct except you need to copy the sport FIT file to NEWFILES/ and not SPORTS/ (the original location).
northern-monkey, Check you private message. I send you the file off of my wife's FR645. I had a similar thing happen to the golf app on my FR935, only thing was I did not remove it. Thankfully I had a back up from the first couple days of getting the watch.
uh oh... the watch doesn't appear in my mac drives... and judging by this seems like it isn't built to. [h=1]My Mac Does Not Recognize My Forerunner 645 Music When Connected via USB[/h] Unlike previous generation Forerunners, the Forerunner 645 Music uses the MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode when connecting to a computer. This USB mode allows for the transfer of media files to the device. Mac operating systems (OS X, macOS Sierra, and macOS High Sierra) only provide limited native support for MTP devices, which means these devices will not be recognized as external drives. To transfer music and other audio content to your device, install the Garmin Express application
appreciate the help, but unfortunately I get a 'no device found' message when trying to use the android file transfer app. i tried uploading the file to connect iq but got a whole load of errors about manifest files and things like that, which is all way beyond me.
scratch that. it popped up when i happened to have the watch connected and restarted the pc. android transfer and garmin express can't operate simultaneously perhaps? either way, managed to transfer it over. thanks for the help, all!
