HRV stress all over place when exercising

I have an Edge 1000 and use that for cycling but the HRV stress readings are all over the place and high during the activity on the 645.

When doing an activity you should not be recording the stress, and if you log the cycle on the 645 it will stop recording.

So my question for Garmin Joey is surely it makes sense for Garmin Connect to realise your Edge has you cycling for 6 hours and to then remove that period from the HRV stress recordings?

My way of fixing at the moment is to record cycling on both devices.
  • This is a pretty good point. A lot of people have multiple Garmin devices and it would be great if Connect better as a central hub for all of the data from those devices to be correlated with one another to give a complete picture for the individuals activities no matter which device they use.

Something I read recently on DCR hinted that the ability for Training Load and Training Status to sync between devices is coming soon (I think he said "this spring" but nothing concrete) which would be great for someone like you.

As it stands right now your best bet is probably to do as you are now or maybe not wear the watch when cycling. I didn't get a feel from the DCR article whether something like the all day stress would be part of that fusing of performance data or not.
  • The word Stress appears to indicate 'being under a load'. Are you not under a load when cycling?

You are under load when cycling but I have used the First Beat proper assessment and any exercise is excluded from readings as is done when you record exercise on the 645.

It just needs to know you are doing exercise using another device.
