Heart Rate Ant+ Broadcast

I’m having issues with HR Broadcast stopping once an activity begins, but it works before I press start. I can see on the HR screens that the measurement is occurring, it’s just not broadcasting. Anyone else seeing this?

What is your setting for "Broadcast During Activity"? This can be found in Menu>Settings>Wrist Heart Rate.

If this is set to Off, the device will not broadcast heart rate while the timer is running.

  • Yes, it’s been set to On with this problem occurring. I also have the 935, and have never had this occur.

It is working for me as expected.

What device are you broadcasting to? Have you ever been able to get the 645 to pair as an external heart rate monitor to the the other device?
  • It’s paired to a Peloton spin bike. It broadcasts the HR to the bike in ready mode, but when I hit start on the watch, it disconnects. The 935 always works correctly.
  • Garmin-Joey, I did two back to back tests today and the 645 initially broadcasts, and then stops after 3-4 minutes. I then turned on the 935 and it's HR broadcast to test and it continue with no problem. (I wanted to rule out any potential problem with the peloton software) Looks like it's a problem w/the 645.

can you upload one of the .FIT files from the Forerunner 645 so we can take a look?

Does the your Peloton bike have any options to export activity data?
  • The Peloton does not offer an export, but I have attached the Garmin .FIT file. You'll see the HRM data was captured through out. Unfortunately, it stops broadcasting after 3-4 minutes. Thanks for taking a look. I appreciate your help.

Thank you for the .FIT file. I have passed this on to the device team for further investigation.
  • Thanks Joey. By the way, would it be better for me to submit these issues directly through a support team vs. these forums?

It depends on the situation. For things that we can reproduce easily forums work great for collecting information. For things that aren't easily reproduced working directly with support tends to be best. This allows the team to collect more detailed and specific information that isn't as easy to collect in an open forum format.
