Headphones connection

I'm having a problem connecting headphones with the 645. The initial association is ok, but later the connection does not happen automatically. It is necessary to connect manually from 645. Has anyone encountered the same problem? It does not seem to me normal that the connection should be done manually every time.

What type of headphones are you using, and what is the process that you typically use when trying to re-connect your headphones?

  • I used 2 types of earphones: Irradio i-Jog and Trendwoo; the procedure I use to reconnect the earphones is simply to turn them on and wait for the Garmin 645 to connect automatically; something that unfortunately does not happen.
  • Once you turn them on, go to the music controls and select "play", and you should connect. With more than one set paired, you may have to which which one to connect to if both are on.

  • I discovered a strange thing: if I hold down the down button to see the dial dedicated to music and then turn on the earphones, the connection is for the Trendwoo Runner X9 and remains stable, while for the Irradio I-Jog the connection takes place and then after a few seconds disconnects. If, however, I do not see the music screen, the two earphones do not connect. boh?
  • The long press of "down" gets you to the music control I mentioned, and you do have to do something on the watch so it knows to look for the headphones. They won't just connect when you turn on the headphones, as they would be using battery to look for headphones 24/7

What jim_m_58 has suggested is correct. In order for the Forerunner 645M to connect to your headphones, the watch has to be "looking" for the headphones. Accessing the music controls prior to turning on your headphones is recommended, and typically results in a quick connection. Pressing play when your headphones are turned on is another way to get the watch and headphones to connect.

For your second set of headphones (Irradio I-Jog), when the watch disconnects are the other set of headphones near by, are they also connected to your phone, and which wrist are you wearing the watch on?

Depending on which side the headphone antenna is on you may try to switch wrists so that the watch is closer to the antenna.
  • I confirm what you have indicated to me; the connection must be made by pressing the play from the 645 Music app. I thank everyone for their help.

Hi all, I am having the same issue: my 645 music will pair with the headphones initially, but every reconnect attempt fails. I go into the spotify app, press play, it says searching for the "jlab epic" which is the correct model of my headphones, my headphones are on and searching, but the search fails, every time. These headphones connect flawlessly to my phone, computer, laptop and all other devices. The only way I can reconnect is if I delete the device and then repair, which is not an acceptable solution.

    Hi guys,

I just picked up my new 645 Music. I am trying to pair it with Huawei AM61 but watch does not see headphones. Do you know by any chance what might be the reason? Do I have to buy new headphones?

    Thanks a lot!

  • I'm using 2 type of wireless headphones and no issues so far. I've read complaints about connection issues, but I haven't experienced them while jogging. I use the FUNCL W1 true wireless earbuds and the Treblab z2's over the hear wireless headphones which I like to use when it's cold out...
