Screen Protector anyone?

Anyone planning to add a screen protector? Or maybe even the nano liquid protector?

Thoughts?
  • I've never used a protector on any of my previous Garmin watches but plan to with the 645 but I haven't started shopping yet. From reading on the other forums the Brotect glass ones seem to be really popular and I was thinking of checking to see if they one available yet for this watch.

I bought my 735 used and it had a rubbery protector on it that was horrible. It was off in the first minute after I unpacked it.
  • I would be very surprised if these screens didn't scratch. I ordered a Wimaha glass one on Amazon for the Vivoactive 3. The screen is the same exact size. I verified by applying a VA3 non-glass film I had laying around. It fit perfectly. I used a Wimaha glass protector on my VA3 and I loved it. It feels awesome - nothing like the tackiness of film. I have a puppy though, who loves putting my whole wrist (including my watch) into her mouth. They were so cheap, I really don't think you can go wrong using a glass one. If you can't find a 645 specific one, go with the VA3.

I added a VA3 glass screen protector to my new 645M. Fits perfectly.

I swear by the glass screen protectors ever since taking a nasty fall about a year ago (ended up with 6 stitches above my eye)... The screen protector on my old 235 got shattered, but the watch/screen itself were perfectly fine.

Which screen protector did you use? Wimaha had mixed reviews of bad and good... I the film on the 645M out of box. I just had to cut a little bit of the tab to avoid it from catching and lifting off. I want to get a screen protector before I pull that off. (First Garmin/smart watchish)
  • Regarding the Wimaha glass protector - I put one on in October and it remained until last week when I got the 645. There was one other glass one in the two pack and I went to put it on the 645 but it was cracked. Not sure if it came that way originally or I mishandled it. What is amazing is that the single Wimaha protector lived despite my puppy with very sharp teeth biting my VA3 many times a week. I don't even think it's scratched. I'm going to start with the Wimaha and if that doesn't work I'll try others. I saw the mixed reviews when I went to reorder, but I was happy with how it was packaged and the way it performed.
  • Yes. Purchased one on Amazon (by MIHENCE) when I got the watch on Monday and put it on yesterday. Inexpensive, easy to install and looks good. I'll see how durable it is but so far I would recommend.
  • Hopefully Wimaha is good. It comes in tomorrow. I would be curious about the MIHENCE durability since reviews for Wimaha durability isn't so good. But I'll take any screen protector instead of none.
  • Does anyone know off-hand if the 935 screen protector would fit this watch? I have an extra that I don't have with me right now. Thanks!
  • no it doesn't, the 645 glass is smaller.
  • Wimaha works okay for now. The suction helps center the screen protector. The outer rim is collecting dust, particles, etc. Also you can tell that the outer rim is not sealed on to the face. So I'm only questioning how long this will last.
