Settings

The settings for distance on my FR45 are metric.

During an activity, like running, distance is showed. Unfortunately the FR shows this distance in miles.

At distance 0,62 a beep sounds and 1 is shown. This means that the FR45 calculates metric.

Is it possible to change the setting into metric during activities too?

  • you need to do the change through Garmin Connect Web

  • I fo not understand this answer.
    Where should I change this?

I have the garmin connect app on my smartphone, there are the settings metric too.

On my laptop I have Garmin Connect and after connect I see the settings of the FR45; metric of course

Somewhere there are settings for representing data DURING an activity. I would like to know where, please.

  • if you already have chaned the metrics on the watch, you need to configure it under Garmin Connect too.

    Give it a try.

  • Take a look here for unit configuration on GC

  • I did take a look there and added comment too.

But in my opinion it doesn't make sense to have a seperate unit for showing distance during an activity.

So problably this is a software bug.

I suppose the unit which is used at showing distance during an activity is "hard-coded" miles and is not related to the metric unit.

Update: I really was convinced that the FR 45 settings were metric, because the beep sounded every km and the activities were registered in km's.

However, now I see: at units I change change between "Statuut" and "Metrisch" (in Dutch). The setting was "Statuut" whatever that me be and after changing it into "Metrisch" the problem is solved!
