My watch only shows a general menu and the sign that my watch is connected to my smartphone

For about 2 weeks now, my Forerunner 45 has not been working properly. I can only see the following screens: the golden triangle, the screen indicating that my watch is connected to my smartphone and the 'round menu' with options such as 'power off, lock buttons, help...'. I can no longer initiate sports activities or see any dials through my watch. I don't know how this came about. My phone does pair with my smartphone and I have the latest smartphone app software. Can anyone help me?

  • Hi. I have exactly the same issue since today. I have connected the watch to my computer to add a new training session. An update laoded alone and, after installation and restart, it's the mess. Same issue : triangle then frozen on that screen with a watch icon, an equal sign and the phone/bluetooth icon ...

Did you find a solution for your watch ?

  • Bad news ... I have a big trail the 18th of June ....

  • I succeeded to restart the watch and have it back ! With a hard reset to restore the factory parameters ... and lost all my personal settings but ....

    The method :

    1. turn off the watch
    2. Press two buttons at the same time and hold then pressed : Start/Stop buton and Lap/Reset button.
    3. Press and hold Light button (On button in fact). Keep the 3 buttons hold.
    4. You will hear a beep. When you hear it, release the the Start/Stop button only.
    5. You will hear a second one. Then release the Lap/Rest button only.
    6. Then release the last button, the Light one

It should reset the watch ...

  • Thank you for your reply. I could not do a reset on my watch.
I deleted my watch on my cell phone's app . Then reinstalled it (my data remains!) . After this I have back a home screen on my watch and it works fine.

    good luck!
