I have bought a new phone and my Garmin Forerunner 45 won't connect to it. I registered to my previous phone which I gave back to work.

I have tried all of the troubleshootig options by none seem to work.

These steps and video seems to be the most helpful to fix this issue.

In the Garmin Connect app remove the Forerunner - More > Garmin Devices > select your Forerunner 45 > Remove Device
On your iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
If you have any other mobile devices (phones, tablets) still paired with the Forerunner, also do the same there - Settings > Bluetooth > select your Garmin device > Forget This Device
Restart iPhone
Restart Forerunner
Place your Forerunner in pairing mode - Press LIGHT button, and select phone icon
Pair using Garmin Connect, not your phone's Bluetooth settings.

Thanks - I tried that again and still no luck. I am unable to unpair it from my old work phone, which i have given back. But I restored that phone to factory settings.

Doesn't really matter about the old phone as long as it is not within Bluetooth range and there is nothing else nearby within Bluetooth range.

Main thing is to remove the 45 from Garmin Connect app, "forget" the 45 in current iPhone's Bluetooth settings, then pair with Garmin Connect (plus sign, top right corner of the main page of Garmin Connect).

If that doesn't work, where is it getting hung up?

It has never been discoverable when I search on bluetooth. So it has never been attached to my iPhone.

Pair only with the Garmin Connect App, do not use iPhone to search for or pair the forerunner. As long as your Forerunner is in pairing mode like this...

then go in to Garmin Connect app and add device - More > Garmin Devices > Add Device

At some point you should be prompted to enter the PIN being displayed on the watch.

It just stays on that and in the Connect app with the troubleshooting option
