Forerunner 45S and Paddleboarding

I love my 45S but can’t add Paddleboarding on to it. What is the best way to track my time on the water? I was thinking set it to walk then change it to SUP in Strava. I just want to be able to see my spidery paddling and see the distance. I’ve tried adding as cardio and ‘other’ but neither gave me a map. Thanks for any help...

  • I suggest recording as a walk. Then after the activity, you can edit/change it in the Garmin Connect app. The calories reported probably won't be accurate but you'll have the GPS data such as map, distance, speed etc.
