Brand new 45 won’t sync to IOS

My watch connected to Garmin Connect perfectly on my iPhone 10S.

But the first sync went on and on forever, and the watch eventually timed out.

Afeet 3 attempts, closing the app, toggling Bluetooth on and off, restarting the watch and the phone, removing and re-installing the watch, etc., I decided to try Garmin Express in my Mac.

That resulted in a successful watch upgrade to the v3.80 firmware, and a fast connection to Garmin Connect Mobile on my phone.

However, I still can’t get them to synch.

The phone says it’s connected, but when I click on the synch icon, it spins for about a second.

I tried switching things up, and started a synch from the watch.  The watch said that the sync was in progress, but the phone pOppel an error saying:

     The operation couldn’t be completed. (GCMSyncError- Domain error 0.)

what should I do next?

    Out of curiosity, I tried loading the connect IQ Store app to my phone.

    It loaded, sees my phone, and allowed me to load the Simple TDB watch face.

    i re-opened Garmin Connect Mobile, and now it displays the My Day page, with my heart rate, Body battery, Stress, etc.

    I just tried a sync from my phone, and got the spinner, the progress bar, etc.

    Problem solved?
