Went for a run in Vancouver and the GPS recorded a straight line in Alberta countryside

Hello! Love my Garmin, except what it did this evening...

Honestly, I ran around False Creek in Vancouver this evening and I followed a route close to one I did 2 weeks ago: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/4695025097.

Any ideas why this might be?

Just a hypothesis:

You did not wait for good GPS fix before starting the activity.

You can always crop your activity on Garmin Connect.

I was waiting maybe 3 minutes before it turned green and had a full signal, which is when I then started the activity.
