Incident detection whilst tracking a run

What causes incident detection to send an alert when running? It’s gone off twice near the start of my runs and I’ve had to send a message after receiving calls to check up on me. As a result of this, I’ve turned Incident Detection off.

I just had mine go off when I did a gentle hands and knees fall during a run activity.  I've had it since July 19 and this is the only time it's gone off.  I was impressed.

However it did not successfully send an alert.  After double checking my setup, when I "Request Assistance" my watch says it is sending a message, but reboots (triangle symbol) and does not send.

FYI I am using a 45S with the latest software in 2/2020 3.40.0.0.

  • I now believe that the issues I was having may have been related to my tugging a tight-fitting hand warmer sleeve down over the device resulting in the button being pressed. Once the weather is warmer, and I’m in short sleeves, I’ll reinstate the alert system and do a couple of trial runs.

I hope you manage to get the function to work on your device.
