Battery life terrible now

Glover the last few weeks my battery life has gotten worse and worse. I'm now charging the watch every 2 days, and after 2 days it's totally empty again. My backlight is off, I rarely sync it and only have maybe 2 shirt activities recorded across the 2 days. I'm fairly sure I used to get around 4 or 5 days charge.

Also, the other day I went for a short cycle but didnt record the ride, later it showed a cycle on my garmin, so is the GPS always on? How did it know I cycled if I didnt record it?

If you have installed a new watch face recently, it's likely that it's the gulty one.

Regarding your last question, AFAIK the GPS isn't enabled if you're not inside an activity screen (i.e. top right button) or recording an activity.
