Is my Garmin dying??

Hey Garmin users!

I bought a refurbished forerunner 15 (IK wrong thread but the model is so old they don't have one for me) around 3.5 years ago that has worked pretty well up until recently. The past month or so my garmin has struggled to fully connect to satellites, loses it's signal in the middle of the run, and recently has been losing it's signal right at the start of the run and then finding it again mid way through. I've lived in the same rural(ish) area since owning the watch so i don't think there's a signal blocking issue, so I think my watch might be on its death bed. Just wondering if anyone else's watch has met its demise in a similar fashion? I'm a fairly vigilant environmentalist so I'd really like to avoid buying a new watch if whatever is going on is a fluke or easily fixable.

Any input is appreciated!

  • My friend had an old FR305, which started showing similar symptoms after several years. He ended up replacing it, as he found no way of getting it back to normal.

One thing you could try is doing a hard reset, and if that does not help, then I'm affraid it's broken.
