Not being able to stop notifications for steps

I just bought an FR35 and i set the Activity tracking as 'on' but the Move alerts and the Goal alerts as off. Yet i am getting alerts CONSTANTLY, like literally almost every step to say i have 350, 349, 348 etc etc steps till the goal. Vibrating almost not stop. Surely there is something wrong with this particular device. I didn't want to stop tracking the steps completely, i just wanted to silence all the alerts.

Problem solved. The step notifications were being pushed from another app on the phone which was synced with the Garmin device.
