My sons forerunner 35 band has broken. The bands I purchased have labeled a 35 do not have the same lug to attach the band. The replacement bands have a rib down the center of the strap the lug on the watch is solid (no relief for the rib?

You have to remove the screws and plastic part .

You are not alone. This is a common mistake with the FR35 band.
