Hi, my measured HR can vary from 45 bpm to 160 bpm or more during a spinning session. My resting HR is 50 and my max HR is 140 (I'm 82 years old). How is this possible?

Are you using the 230 with the chest strap or the 235 with the built-in wrist heart rate monitor?
I,m using the Forerunner 30 with wrist heart rate monitor.
Ok, in that case I've moved this thread to the Forerunner 30/35 forum. The technology of wrist heart rate monitors, though convenient, do not provide the accuracy of a chest strap HRM. Unfortunately, the Forerunner 30 does not allow the option to use accessories such as a chest strap HRM. You'd have to have at least a Forerunner 35. However, there are some things you can do to improve the performance of your wrist HRM as described in the Forerunner 30 owner's manual - Tips for Erratic Heart Rate Data.
