Multisport option? Automatically recognising workouts?

Hi, i have just bought a garmin forerunner 35. To track a workout, do I have to actively identify the workout using the profile settings and pressing start and stop? I tracked a run yesterday which was fine. But I did crossfit today and I thought it would automatically track my workout but it didn't. I can't even see a record of my heart rate. The profiles I have are just outdoor run, indoor run, cycling, cardio, walk. I want to track my crossfit sessions, on the app it has a multisport option why can't I find this on my watch? Or what's the best activity to put it under? I don't have the activity tracking on for steps and sleep as Im not bothered about that. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Generally, yes. The FR35 has the Move IQ feature, which is supposed to detect what kind of activity you're doing, but it's rather limited in its capabilities and if you want more details and reliability, then you have to manually select a relevant profile and start/stop it.

That's correct. The FR35 can't do that for you.

The FR35 does not have any multisport capabilities. For that you'd have to use a more advanced model.

That depends on what you want the data for, but I'd use "Cardio" or "Other".
