Is there a way to manually pause and resume a bike ride on the FR35? I will be doing a ride this weekend that invloves 10 miles, then a 45 minute ferry ride, another 40 mile ride, then the ferry back and 10 miles home. I'd like to record that all as a single ride instead of three separate rides, but the auto-pause will not work while I'm sitting on a moving ferry boat. I can't find a way to manually pause the watch while recording an activity.
Can't you just press stop to put it into pause? Look at page 1 of the user manual. You might have to do something to prevent the device from automatically shutting down while it's 'paused' but there is an option to resume after pressing stop. Why not give it a try? Start an activity.Press stop (see what options you have). A few minutes later. press start again.
So I tried a manual stop, and it does work, although the watch will buzz you every 10 minutes or so to say it is about to end the activity and save it if you don't press a button in 30 seconds. Since I was at the event BBQ and concert, I guess I was socializing and missed one of the notifications and the watch stopped recording. I had to restart it when it was time to ride back to the ferry and head home, so my ride for the day was split into two activities. Overall it is possible to pause manually, but a little bit cumbersome if you're planning to stay paused for a while.
