Lap Distance and Reset

I've just bought a Garmin 30 after having a 210 for several years. There are two things I can't work out how to do (maybe not possible?). Can I set lap distance to be 0.25 miles (for track training). Also, is there an easy way to reset, again for track training, for instance for 800 reps. The 210 had a reset button which you could hold down easily whilst jogging between reps.
  • The FR30 isn’t very sophisticated. I think the best you’ll do is use manual lapping. Go to settings: activity options: laps and turn off auto lap and turn on lap key.

    Hope that helps

  • Thanks CW. I thought that might be the case. Perhaps I'll use the 210 for track training. It still works ok but battery life is only about 15 miles now!
  • If you still have the chance to change out the FR30 you might want to swap it out for something more sophisticated. The 235 is a really capable running watch you can find some good deals on at the moment, or even a FR230 if you can still find one being sold (its to none optical heart rate version which I think has now been discontinued). These have a load more capabilities than the FR30 (which is actually a really nice watch, just more for beginners and people that like set and forgot)
