Footpod use with Forerunner 35

I used to use my footpod with my Forerunner 210. I have read that I can use a footpod with the Forerunner 35, but it does not get picked up when doing the following: settings/sensors/add... Says hold device on sensor, then says sensor must be awake to pair. What am I doing wrong as the footpod has no on/off switch and there is no other way to connect it? Is this type of footpod wrong for a Forerunner 35? The reason I want to use the footpod is in winter I use a treadmill and the distance is not at all accurate.
  • If you are using the same footpod that you were using with your FR210 then it should be good with the FR35. For the pairing to work you have to "wake up" the footpod. You do this by walking some steps with the footpod attached to your shoe or by simulating walking by - for example - shaking the footpod rhythmically. If that doesn't help, then make sure the battery is good. Remove old battery, wait at least 30 seconds (very important!), and then install a fresh battery.

Thanks tmk2, but still no joy. Done the following. shook foot pod and still no luck. Then walked with foot pod on and still no luck. Then went for a run with foot pod on and tried to connect after that and still no luck. Then put in a new battery and did the same 3 methods with no luck. Can it be that the foot pod is too old (8years) so tech not compatible. FR210 was about 6 years old.
