too many notifications

According to GC, you can adjust the notifications received "during activity" or "not during activity," and you can go from all notifications to calls only.

My question is, can you select which notifications you want to see on the Garmin, versus which ones you see on your phone? Or do they have to be exactly the same?

For example, I may only want calls, text and email on my Garmin, not the facebook, mapmyrun, swarm, my fitnesspal, facebook messenger etc. notifications I get all day on my phone.

I know I can go into each apps settings to change how I see notifications, but that's on my phone. I can't seem to find where I can do this on the Garmin, if I can at all.

thank you!

  • I believe it mirrors the phone so you need to turn them off on the phone if you want them off on the watch,

thank you. that's what I thought. I felt like every notification popping up (there were a lot) was draining the battery. its set for calls only now :)
  • Also I've found that by changing the settings to "calls only," I still get all the emails and things on the Garmin, but I'm not "notified" with lights and vibration, and that is making a huge difference to my battery life :)

Hi, I don't own a FR 35, but a FR 25 instead, and I think you can "choose" which apps you want to receive notifications from.

It's done in the Connect app on the phone, but I don't remember exactly how.

ooh, if you recall, please post. Best I can find through Connect is 'calls only' or 'all notifications.' All gives me everything that pops up on my phone. in "calls only" the notifications don't pop up on the screen and buzz, but I can see my emails and stuff when I push the selection button.

    thanks!

Go into Connect and click the 3 bars on the left for the dropdown.

Select Settings then Smart Notifications, you can turn off individual apps or add ones that are not on the list.

Is it possible to post a screen shot? I don't have "smart notifications" as an option. I'm using Connect version 3.11.1.26.

I can see Settings, Device Settings, Phone Notifications. Inside there I can select show calls only or all notifications.
    thanks!

You set Smart Notifications from the Connect Settings, not the Device Settings.
