Number of kilometers on steps page includes cycling distance

I expect the number of kilometers on the steps overview page in Garmin Connect to result from the number of steps that my Forerunner 230 counts. This is the case when I walk or run and when I record cycling activities using an Edge 500.

However, when I record cycling activities using my Forerunner 230, the number of kilometers on the steps page includes the number of kilometers that I cycle.

I've tried to compare cycling activities recorded on the Edge 500 and Forerunner 230, but I haven't spotted anything obviously different.

Is there a setting somewhere that controls what counts towards the number of kilometers on the steps page?

Thanks in advance!

That total includes distance of ALL types of activities that you do.

    No.

  • Thanks.

That's the thing. If that total includes the distance of ALL activities, I'd expect that to be the case regardless of the device that I use to record activities. Afterall, it's a page for my Garmin account, not just for a single device.

None of my cycling activities recorded with a Garmin Edge 500 count towards that total. Hence the question. The behavior is not consistent.

Can anyone else observe this behavior?
