My 235 isn't being recognised when plugged in

A little 4 mile run couldn't be uploaded - plugged in as normal but wouldn't recognise my watch.

I uninstalled garmin express and reinstalled it hoping it would work to no avail. Now I'm at my wits end....I can't be the only one? Is it a problem with the cable?

  • Are you on a Windows or macOS computer? Can you not at least see your 235 as a device in Windows Explorer? If not, I would try with a different known working Garmin USB cable, swap to a different USB port on your computer and/or try with a different computer.

If you can see your device, you do have the opportunity to do a manual upload using Garmin Connect Web.

How Do I Manually Upload an Activity I Recorded to Garmin Connect?

If you get any message other than Import Complete, then there is a problem with the file. It is likely corrupt. Attach it to this thread. We can take a look to see if it is repairable.

    • Zip the file, then in a reply post Insert >> Image/video/file >> click Upload >> browse for file >> OK.
    • Or upload the fit file to a file sharing service, such as OneDriveGoogle DriveDropbox, etc., make the file public, then paste a link to the file in your post.
