Move old data to New Watch

I am upgrading my 235 to the 245, does anybody know how to move all my stats and data on my current watch the 235 to the new watch 245? Syncing on the app seems to transfer data from watch to app but doesn't send historical data from app to watch?

You might try backing up the files on one watch to a computer, and then restoring the backed up files to the other watch.

The page at https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=AXV7LuWgc73v21nq6nbDa6 gives a description of what is in several folders.

You could connect both watches to a computer at the same time, and copy the files.

I don't know if this will work or not. It could render the 245 unusable.

To reduce risk, before doing the above, I suggest using image backup software: Make a drive image backup of the 245. If something goes wrong, hopefully, you will be able to restore the image, which should restore the 245 back to the state it was before you did anything.

Edit: I suggest writing to Garmin Support, and ask them if you can copy the files from the 235 to the 245.

If you make a backup of both watches, it can protect you if you mistakenly copy from the 245 to the 235.
