rash forerunner 235 wrist

After couple of month wearing the forerunner 235 24/7 I got a rash on my wrist, multiple tiny blatters, red dots etc, anyone now the cause? charging-contacts or the plastic band? I read some posts and will try turning watch house to inside of wrist & washing/drying after each training/day.
I tried wearing it on other (left) wrist - cause I'm lefthanded - but then it autostarts all the time, no idea why....
  • The problem is sweat, your wrist is always wet (for me) I have the same thing. I alter between the leather band and the silicone one, that fixes the problem for me.

What I do is switch watch wearing wrists when I start to feel irritation to my skin. Usually within a day or two, I can switch back. I do triathlon training (lots of swimming & sweating), and I minimize skin irritation by rinsing my watch off in the shower and leaving the watch off for 30 minutes to dry.

On a side note, I'm a triathlete vlogger and have a YouTube channel, where I post weekly videos that are informative & entertaining. I talk about everything related to health & fitness. Here's a link to my latest video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MESb-_ZBamM

Hi my wife wearing forerunner 235 not 24/7 but got a rash in her wrist like what you claimed here. Perhaps, Garmin should do some investigation or change the material that able support the durable wearing.

I also had the same issue. It was infuriating. I would wash the band regularly, treated my skin with sensitive skin scentless soaps and it still continues. I had the cyan/blue FR235. In the end, I "resolved" the issue by buying a cheap nylon strap from amazon. It's less comfortable, doesn't give like the silicone band, but this is better than the rash and irritation. Still, this is a poor solution to a £250 problem.

I’m the same, my wrist goes red, sore and very itchy if I wear it all the time. So now I only wear it when exercising which is a shame as I would like to track my steps. I clean the strap and underside of the watch regularly. I don’t normallly have sensitive skin so a bit miffed. When it first happened I contacted Garmin who said there was nothing they could do. Pensive I’ve ordered a material strap to try instead.
