Buttons holding in water hours after washing and drying the watch.

I wash my watch and dry it thoroughly after each activity. Usually I do not need to press any buttons after drying it for a while because I check my stats before washing. Today I was bored waiting for a train and decided to check my steps and settings when my wrist dripped a few drops of water. It mainly came from the red active button and the back button on the right side.

Research and reading the manual has led me to understand not to press any buttons under water, which I never have done. I am just worried that it might not be normal to have water inside the buttons for a long time.

Any insight/opinions is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
  • It is normal for the button holes to hold some water for a while after submering in water. It does not necessarily indicate any problem and simply shows that water's surface tension combined with tiny gaps between the button and the case prevents the water from escaping by itself. If it's any comfort to you, it happens to my FR735XT (which is externally identical to the FR235) all the time.
  • I am in the pool swimming daily, ending in a hot tub, and regularly press my buttons in the water ... haven't had any issues in 3 years.
