Anyone else have really low heart rate readings? When I’m sitting completely at rest my forerunner 235 will occasionally read as low as 36. I looked at the data today and it read 36-38 for a good hour. This seems too low to be right. I then proceeded to take it with an app on my phone which read 48 bpm and my watch then jumped up to 48 as well. 36 bpm seems really concerning to me. Should I just disregard measurements like these?
Detecting accurate HR from the wrist is open to all sorts of permutations. When you moved to measure your HR with your phone you likely put the sensor in the 'right' place. If you are concerned, take a manual measurement from your radial pulse.
Thanks for your reply. The weird thing is, I hadn’t moved my wrist when taking my heart rate on the phone. RHR taken manually first thing in the morning is about 41 bpm. So I guess these values could make sense. Does Garmin stop detecting heart rate if there’s a lack of movement? Again today it dropped to 32 bpm as then jumped up when I did it on my phone. Maybe it’s somehow syncing with the heart rate app on my phone?
