230 Show Heart Rate

I have successfully paired my 230 with both the HRM-Tri and the HRM-Run. I occasionally see my heart rate displayed on the watch. I don't ever realize just what I did to get the HR to show. I would like to simply (lol) have my HR displayed on the watch screen. I don't need timer, stopwatch, GPS, etc., etc. Just want my HR to show on the watch in big numbers.

I need STEP-BY-STEP keystroke instructions on how to get there and stay there. I get there occasionally by accident, so I know the strap/watch combos are working. Also, on the Main Screen (shows Time/Date) I see the little heart beat at the upper left. The watch is getting the HR data, I just need to show it.

Thanks!!!
  • The heart rate from a strap will only show when in an activity. To see it in big numbers create a data page with one field.

The watch's screen/display, or more specifically the watch face? You cannot display the current HR reading on the watch face on an FR230 (or FR235 or FR630, for that matter).

What philipshambrook said. For clarity, you need to:
    • have your HR strap broadcasting and connected to your FR230
    • start the timer on an activity profile, irrespective of whether GPS is enabled for that profile
    • either have the preconfigured Heart Rate and/or HR Zone Gauge data screens enabled for that profile and scroll to it (one of them), or have the Heart Rate data field configured for one of ‘Screen 1’ or ‘Screen 2’ among the data screens for that profile.

I need STEP-BY-STEP keystroke instructions on how to get there and stay there.
It doesn't work that way. Which activity profile you accessed last, and which data screens you have enabled/disabled for a particular activity profile, will change the actual steps required from the starting point of the procedure.

Also, on the Main Screen (shows Time/Date) I see the little heart beat at the upper left.
The only circumstances in which you would see it is if you have selected an activity profile for which the preconfigured Clock data screen is enabled, and you have scrolled to it, but have not started the activity timer. If that is the case, then…

The watch is getting the HR data, I just need to show it.
you just need to scroll to the Heart Rate data screen or the HR Zone Gauge data screen (assuming one or both of them is/are enabled) from the Clock data screen, using the ^ and v buttons.
