Finally figured out how to get an accurate step count when clearing snow

Use a snow blower and as a result of holding the handle not many steps recorded for this activity. BTW, try running a snow blower for 2 hours straight and you'll realize it is an actual Activity. Anyhow the answer is to strap the watch to my ankle, while not perfect it counts 80% of the steps instead of the 10-15% counted while wearing it on my wrist.

BTW, the step counter on the 235 and Fenix 3 are 100% reliant on ARM SWING, which makes them dead easy to spoof and really inaccurate if you have your arm movement restrained. However my relatively Ancient forerunner 15 that is nearly impossible to spoof and lacking a wrist band will accurately record steps while PLACED IN MY SHIRT POCKET. BTW, use the at the gym 15 to display my HR when working on a treadmill or Elliptical, so even though the GPS has quit working it's still providing me with a benefit. It also has a step counter than I have found to be both reliable and nearly impossible to spoof. Anyone who doesn't believe this is welcome to dig out a 15 and strap it to one wrist while wearing a 235 on the other wrist and simply start swinging your arms while standing still, the results will be quite informative. Then try pushing a grocery cart while wearing both watches and see what happens, the 235 will show almost no steps and the 15 will show steps consistent with the distance covered.

Yeah, I am a step count Junkie, to the extent that I park WAY WAY out in the lot at the grocery just to get in a few extra steps. I'm also one of those nuts who jogs to the door to get a cart just to get in a bit more jogging in. Tried jogging with the cart in the store but the manager complained that I was making his customers nervous so I have to move at a crawl on the weekly shopping trip for food. Anyone else who finds the common grocery shopper infuriatingly slow moving is welcome to chime in. Gripes about the cost of Whey Protein are also welcome.
