Garmin Forerunner 235 Heart Rate information

Hi there,

I have recently acquired a new Garmin Forerunner 235; I am very pleased with it and it seems to be working very well, except one thing, described below.

For information, I have searched the Garmin Forum, Reddit, Google to try and find the answer; I have seem some similar issues and potential solutions but none that has worked in this particular case so far.

The issue: when I open the Garmin App, I can see the various titles such as "Steps" or "Intensity Minutes" and I can click into these for a more detailed breakdown. However, it is the "Heart Rate" information where seem to have an issue. When I open the app, I can see a small graph showing "Last Four Hours" as well as "Rest" and "High". I can click on the little graph icon (top right of box, same level as the heart symbol and "Heart Rate" and I am taken to "All-Day Heart Rate" which shows my "High" and "Resting" levels in blue and red for either 7d, 4w or 12m. If I click on the actual graph for the "Last Four Hours" though, I am taken to "Heart Rate Details" with a message showing "Sync your device to see today's timeline" (I can also see "Resting (bpm)" and "High (bpm)"). Even if I do sync, I receive the same message.

On my Garmin Connect account I can see all heart activity etc; however, I would like to know that my Garmin App & Device are working as they should.

Does anyone know what is happening here and how to fix it?

I have seen in older models, you had to wear the device for at least a full 24 hours in order to get this information - is this the case?

Any help would be much appreciated.
  • Strange - mine has always shown up. even if there has been a syncing or wearing issue... it comes up. with either a blank area or a line connecting between good data points. I would post this also in the Garmin Connect App area of forum. Give it a day maybe - also power cycle phone and also watch. seems to fix a lot of strange issues.

Thank you for your response - I'll do as you have suggested. Yeah - it's bit of a strange issue to have...hopefully it will get sorted.
