Bluetooth Connection Issues

I've read through this page of the forum and it seems others are having issues with Bluetooth. Mine started playing up at the start of this week. I tested my phone with other Bluetooth devices - all fine. I have only had my 235 a few months and I emailed Amazon who very kindly sent me a brand new replacement. However, you've guessed it - it's still not working. It connected the first time, but has failed since. I have done a hard reset (several times) and uninstalled and reinstalled the app (several times). This is sooo frustrating.

Do we know for sure it's down to a software update? Has anyone figured out a reliable fix? For now, my brand new Garmin is USELESS

Thanks.
  • what phone do you have? Have you tried rebooting that also? It could well be the phone not the 235
  • Thanks for your reply. I have a Google Nexus 6P. It's played perfectly with my Garmin in the passed. I have rebooted the phone several times; sorry for not mentioning that. I've also tried changing various settings, one at a time, for example turning off mobile data when on wi-fi and vice versa. No joy :(

I have exactly the same problem. Tried everything as suggested elsewhere in the forums and help centre but still not working
  • I am having same issue with 235. Galaxy s7 combo. All working fine until this week now 235 won't connect via Bluetooth. Done all reboots etc etc. If I delete the garmin app and then reinstall my 235 will repair and do one sync, then the app seems to hang on sending software to device and once it loses connection will not connect again.

not the phone as my Garmin Edge 1000 is still syncing perfectly via Bluetooth.

    anyone got a resolution yet?

    Hello!
I had the same problem, but today the 235 updates to 7.50 version, and for now, it seems to have been fixed.

Mine was working fine until 7.50 update, phone connects to the watch just the app won't see the phone. Have uninstalled the app, hard reset the watch, tried any phone. Watch and phone is each other just not in the app.

To answer my own question in case it helps anyone else. Despite Bluetooth not showing as active with logo in Time screen I managed to pair the F235 with a phone and a tablet. After pairing, the Bluetooth control widget reappeared where its supposed to be. After disconnecting paired devices and turning off Bluetooth the widget still displays now. Not sure any of what I experienced is expected since I didn't find it documented anywhere but it seems to be working as expected now.
