Cant change wrist strap as the thread is stripped on the straps pin.

As stated in the title, my forerunner 230 needs a strap replacement but the thread in the straps pin is stripped and it will not hold the mini screwdriver in place. Therefore I am finding it impossible to remove the pin to be able to change the strap and as such I can not wear it as a watch! If anyone has any ideas or tips it would be greatly appreciated.

How about cutting the strap off the pin then use a hack saw to cut the pin in half to remove. You obviously need a new pin though but I guess you do anyway

Thabks Wiz I think that is going to have to be the way. Not used a hacksaw in a while, lets Hope I dont cut the watch in half!

After reading a couple of these posts I got out my Dremel and was able to save the band while still cutting through the stripped bolt. Using a cut off wheel you can very lightly go through that bolt and it only leaves a small slit in the band
