Hi I have had my forerunner 230 for a while now and mostly use it to track cycling activities which seems to work very well even when I do not have cell reception. I am wondering if there is an app or something out there that I can use to view downloaded trails as well as see my location on the trails. I have the dwmaps app on my watch and it is what I'm looking for just wondering if there is another app thst does the same thing except I can view it on my phone not my watch screen... Hope this makes sense and any help is appreciated
In the Garmin Connect app, there is no funcionality included that you describe, so your phone will not be of any help with your pre-programmed trails on the Forerunner 230. On the other hand, the Garmin Edge bike computers do exactly what you describe. I recommend looking up the reviews of the Edge 520 and 820. And if you're not in a hurry, rumor has it that there will be new iterations of these devices very soon, so a drop in price for the current models can be expected rather sooner than later.
