How can I add 15K race times to the Personal Records display?

15K races are becoming more popular. Why are only 5K and 10K times displayed under personal records times? Can Garmin add 15K as a tracked time too?
  • 15K race are more popular? Never seen one! I guess in the Uk we have 16Kish (10miles).

you could always use a different training log with more options, e.g. Fetcheveryone.com (but I'm not sure that caters for 15K races, but if it doesn't the owner is accommodating and could add it)

  • Never mind that every Garmin GPS running (or multisport) watch that is capable of detecting new personal records while saving a timed activity – including models in the Forerunner and fēnix product lines, as well as the vívosmart‑HR+ and the vívoactive‑HR – would each require a firmware update just to cater for that target distance. Of course, Garmin Connect would need to be changed as well, to detect it upon activity record upload from non-GPS-equipped devices such as vívosmart‑HR and vívoactive, and possibly the Garmin Connect Mobile apps too just to be aware of it and able to display it if selected by the user.

All that work for what gain exactly? What happens when someone asks next for 3km? 7km? 10mi?
  • I'm guessing they don't have 15K listed as it's not that popular. 5&10K are nearly always the most common distances even if you live in a place that uses imperial units.

It's a shame as it's a great distance, tests you more than a 10K but doesn't need as much of a recovery time compared to a HM.
