Not Syncing Step & Not showing up in Garmin Connect. Please help

Hello there,

My wife bought a Forerunner 235 last November. Everything works as indented however I was playing with it today and noticed her steps aren't showing up in either Garmin Connect Mobile & Garmin Express on PC. The last time Steps were calculated/recorded and Synced with Garmin Connect Mobile & Garmin Express PC was all the way back in Feb 24th...

The Steps are showing up on the Watch but I tried Syncing several time along with rebooting PC, Watch, Bluetooth etc... and they're still not showing up. I also tried syncing the watch with my phone instead of hers and it partially worked (I could see back up to March 25th but that's it).

I can see the activities fine but no step at all, I googled info about it and the only thing I found was to delete all the files inside the DEBUG folder when the watch is connected to PC. (it had 1 file). And steps aren't showing up still...

I can see the current steps of the day however it seems it doesn't keep any history of them in Garmin Connect Mobile at all. It simply delete them once the day is over.

Any ideas? Thanks
  • Is it possible you have the steps screen set to off?

This isn't difficult to do today with a touch screen phone, all it takes is an inadvertent brushing sequence when placing your phone on a belt clip or in a purse. Found that out the "hard way". For Connect Mobile click the 4 squares at the top right of the screen you will see screens with a check mark or a blank indicating which are switched on for display.

Another possibility could be a glitch in the Bluetooth connection. If you are using the phone to keep your watch synced it may mean you have to "reset" the link between phone and watch. For that I would suggest a Reset of both the phone and watch by cycling them OFF and then back On. The use the charging cable to connect the watch to the USB port on your computer so it can be synced through a "hard wire" connection and insure everything in the watch memory is downloaded. Then if Connect Mobile still isn't syncing fully you may need to do a Hard Reset of the watch. If that doesn't provide a solution then a call to Customer Service may be in necessary.
