Training Calendar on watch can't download

So I was doing a training plan and had the workouts downloaded to my watch and the training calendar told me what I was meant to do each day fantastic. I then had a bad couple of weeks and wanted to jump back a bit. I went to Garmin connect and changed the start date. Clicked the arrow on the calendar page and clicked send workouts to device. Watch plugged in to USB and Garmin Express said it had synced. On disconnecting the watch it comes up with a red wheel saying updating for a 15s or so.

What did this do:
1. Cleared my calendar
2. Did not change the workouts on the watch

Tried deleting the plan, set a new one and resending. No change in results.

So next I deleted all the workouts on the watch manually, which was tedious as I had to do it one by one. This time when I sent the workouts to the device it seemed to work, I now have the all the workouts from today onwards. But when I go into Training Calendar on the watch I still get the "Download your training calendar from Garmin Connect" message.

Any ideas, I've been trying this for ages, including syncing via phone and bluetooth.
  • yup, can confirm. The training calendar does not transfer to the watch, neither with garmin express and USB nor garmin connect and bluetooth... Though the old caledar was deleted automatically.

    LE

I checked directly on the USB storage and the workout fit files are on the watch in the proper folder (/GARMIN/WORKOUTS/) I'd say there's a problem with the files themselves.
I also restarted the watch but no dice.

LE2 it is a widespread issue
  • same problem

I have suddenly the same problem:
I created in garmin connect the trainings, put them in the calendar and then transferred it to the device (watch). Worked always fine. I found it under 'Training Calendar'.
Suddenly I have problems with that procedure:
I transfer it to the device, it tells me that it syncs but there is no training on the watch. Only:'Download your training from Garmin Connect'.
Funny enough the workouts that I have done are uploaded to connect.
I copied now directly some .fit files got from my 3-party training program to the folder of the watch (via USB) and can find them now under 'my workouts', sorted by date. But I can't find the trainings now in connect. They only appear when I've done it.

So, I believe there is something wrong with the data from connect. I hope garmin is figuring out what's going on.

(I went through the whole thing with reset, reinstall etc. until I figured out the above solution) I was even tempted to by another product......

Happening to me also. The calendar did not upload and deleted my old calendar on my watch, but the associated workouts do upload.

    +1

I have the same problem. The workouts go to "My Workouts" but not to the "Training Calendar" on the watch. Deleting the files in the Workouts folder and Schedule folder from the watch, restarting the watch and sending the calendar workouts to the device again did not fix this problem.

Yeah same here. Did some changes in my calendar yesterday, and after the last sync it vanished. I assume it's a bug?

There is a current issue with Garmin Connect not sending the training plans or workouts to the Training Calendar section on Garmin devices. This issue is currenlty being worked on and will hopefully have a quick resolution. The workouts are being sent to the watch and can be viewed in the My Workouts section of the watch as a workaround to this issue. We do apologize for any inconvenience.

We will provide updates to this issue in this Garmin Connect Thread.
  • Garmin Connect not syncing to watch

    Hapend to me too!

i HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. I update the training plan in Garmin Connect, sync to the watch, and then the watch says, Download your training from Garmin Connect.

This issue was fixed yesterday in Garmin Connect. Information on the fix can be found in this thread in post #92.

If you are still having trouble with sending the Calendar to your watch please post in that thread.
