Anyone using Stryd foot pod Power Meter besides Tim!

Had mine for over 1 month. Still not sure what value it presents. They just updated their Power Center and have added Running Stress Score, kinda like Strava's Suffer Score.
Not sure if I gain anything compared to just running with heart rate. After seeing DCRainmaker's video where he did some fast solid running- he had his power readings between 300-400! Sadly at 73, the highest I got mine was around 225. Have yet to really hammer with it, but most of the time I run around 11:00 minutes per mile which measures around 170. Wireless battery recharge works ok. I get around 18-20 hours of running before it starts to flicker a light advising it has about 10% battery left.
Interested if any members are using the device and has it been beneficial?
Thanks. Nick
  • I have one (and am using it with the FR235), though haven't had it for long so still getting used to it.
I sold my Mio Link when I got the FR235, and have been frustrated by the optical HRM from time to time (cadence locks, etc), such that it's difficult to trust it now, and certainly it's not great for intervals. So, using power for that instead is where I'm currently thinking the Stryd will be useful.

I need to do the critical power test and set my zones, as at the moment I find easy running is already 250-270 W, and hard interval efforts can be 330-350 W or more. So I find it very difficult to run below 250 W.
