Cycling Cadence Sensor with 235

Does anyone know if :

1) The Wahoo RPM Cadence sensor (which has Ant+) is detected by the 235 ?

Or if not..

2) Can the Garmin Cadence sensor (assuming it is compatible with the 235 ???) work in a similar fashion to the Wahoo one for indoor spins? , ie stuck inside a sock as discussed by DC Rainmaker - https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2014/01/record-cadence-information.html

Thanks!
  • The RPM sensor works just fine with the 235. I don't cycle much but when I do I use it and it connects every time and gives solid results whether it's on my bike or the stationary bike at the gym.

I'm not sure about the wahoo sensor, but the Garmin speed/cadence sensor work great with the 235, and work great for trainer rides.

For a while I was just using the 235 "Bike" mode with the GPS turned off, until I discovered a "bike indoor" mode that includes GPS already off (basically same as bike but GPS always off). To turn it on (if you haven't already), go to start an activity so you can get to the "menu/activity" options. Hit the down arrow for menu. Scroll (up twice) to get to "settings." Once inside settings scroll (up twice again) to get to "activity profiles." Inside there you'll see Run/Run indoor, Bike, Other, and "Bike Indoor." Select this one to turn it on and you're good to go; you can leave the GPS on with your regular "bike" setting, and it'll get all of your data from the speed/cadence sensor.

    Hope this helps!
