Replacement watchband for the 235

I don't know what I was doing while I was asleep last night, but this morning I awoke to find that the black slider thing on my watchband broke. I looked up the replacement band, and when I did, two other entries on Amazon showed up. These are aftermarket, but less than a third of the price. ($8-9, vs. $30) The one question in my mind is are these as "elasticy" as the band for the 235. They are listed as working for the 235 / 220 / 230 / 620 / 630 / 735, and I know that some of them use a different type of material for the band. Has anyone here had experience with these replacements?

Looking at: https://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Forerunner-MoKo-Silicone-Replacement/dp/B01J0RX5C8/ (although there are a few others).

I wonder if there is a way just to replace the black sliding part....

Thanks for any feedback.

I have three of the replacement bands from your link. I have only had my Garmin since Christmas, so don't have long-term use for any of them to report. I like them, so far. The texture is slightly different than the original--hard to explain how. But it's not uncomfortable or even noticeable unless you're looking for it, IMO. These do not come with extra pins, which is only a problem if you lose the end to one of them while you're changing bands, which I could see happening. I ended up ordering a band from a different company just to get another set of pins to have in reserve. I haven't used that band, so can't compare. I will say that the color I received was not what it appeared on the screen so I don't necessarily recommend the band on that basis (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L1JK0HG/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). Ironically for you, the MoKo bands come with two slider bands and I cut the second one off of each of the bands I ordered.
  • Thanks for the feedback. I went ahead and ordered shortly before, so I would get the window for Amazon delivery in 2 days. I didn't even notice that the pins weren't included. Hopefully it won't be a problem, but if so, at least now I know about the other option.

I just got it, and after looking at it, wondered why did you have to cut the second one off? I'm going to slide one off (it slides right off the unattached band, and use it with my current band, then when I have another issue, then I'll swap the watch bands.

Because I'm an idiot  I didn't notice it on the first one until after I had put the band on the watch, and then just didn't even think about it when I was putting the others one on.
