Interval Training on a track (lap training)

I run 200m intervals on an indoor or outdoor track. I would like to set watch to beep at 35 seconds, 120 seconds, 35, 120..for 10 intervals. This is my workout target/recovery time. I would also like to manually record the actual lap time for each interval and review the results at the end. (I am really only concerned about the fast lap.) Note that I know the exact distance so I don't need to use GPS or accelerometer. Note that the recovery laps would end at the 200 m start where I would wait until the 120 second beep. Is this setup possible? I would want to use the same concept for recording 200 m splits when running 800m.
  • Run/walk alerts on the FR235, which do not automatically mark laps, sounds like a good fit for what you described… except that it only allow multiples of 15‑seconds for the interval settings, so you cannot set the running interval at 0:35.

An interval workout configured on the FR235 will allow the running interval to be set to 0:35, but then it automatically marks the completion of every running or walking interval as a lap.

Custom workouts created in Garmin Connect online and sent to the FR235 will cause lap markers to be automatically inserted after every step.

So, you'll need to work out which one is the compromise that best suits you, because I don't think what you want fits any of the available options perfectly.

You mention you know the distance so dont need the GPS, which is correct. If you do enable the GPS I'd be interested to find out how close the two match. I wasn't at all convinced, and mine seemed to under measure, meaning my pace readings were too good.
Woud be good if you can feed back your thoughts once you try it.
