How to lock device

I am trying to lock my Forerunner 235 while in activity mode. That works when the activity is a builtin one (Running, etc), but not when I am hiking and using the hiker app (when I press and hold the > key, I just switch screens...).
Any hints? Thanks!
  • As you found, you can only "lock" with native apps. There's no way to lock the screen when running a Connect IQ app, and it's the same on all Garmin devices that allow locking. By ">" key, do you mean the up and down buttons? I know in my apps for the 23x, all they do is switch screens.

Holding the "up", is the "menu key", in Connect IQ, and is commonly how the app displays it's "menu" if the app has one, and there's no access to the native FW menu. In CIQ apps you also can't get to things like "Music Controls".
  • Yes, > denotes the up key.
Too bad the device cannot be locked when running an IQ app.
One more Garmin Forerunner question...is there a way to check the hours slept the prebioys night (s) w/o being connected to a phone or PC?
